The newly inaugurated Potosí Arena stands as a symbol of innovation in support of culture. With a capacity of over 20,000 people, this venue is set to host concerts by national and international artists and various sports and cultural events.
The governor of San Luis Potosí, Ricardo Gallardo, officiated the opening of this new space, which is expected to boost the city's tourism and economic appeal after 23 years without a venue of this scale.
The construction of the Potosí Arena took approximately 22 months and involved more than 4,000 tons of steel. This Arena was designed and built entirely by engineers and architects from the University of San Luis Potosí, making it a true testament to the ingenuity and capability of its local talent.
The lighting system installation played a key role in the Arena's opening, combining advanced technology with local expertise. The front of the arena is dressed with vibrant colors thanks to the Outshine Q500, an outdoor luminaire with 48 LEDs and 16-bit dimming that offers a wide range of colors. This allows the Arena's exterior to create stunning visuals for any event. This powerful and flexible system ensures the Potosí Arena will be an impressive venue for concerts, sports, or cultural events.
For the temporary stage inside the venue, 36 MW1, 18 Tilt Bot, and 18 Pan T Bot were placed to light the performers, creating a dynamic and vibrant atmosphere. This arrangement of lights makes the venue shine inside and out, elevating the experience for both performers and audiences.
To manage this impressive array of lighting, the MEMO Core Control (MCC1) system has been integrated into the installation. This advanced control unit offers a wide range of features, such as automated triggering of lighting looks based on factors like time of day or specific dates, enabling an enhanced and dynamic atmosphere for every event. With the capability to control up to 8 universes of DMX, the MCC1 ensures smooth and efficient operation, making it the perfect tool for managing large-scale lighting systems.
The authorized distributor of MEGA-LITE in Mexico, Audio Acústica, developed the concept for bringing this remarkable installation to life. Their expertise and commitment to excellence played a key role in transforming the vision for the Potosí Arena into a reality. As the Arena continues to host an array of exciting events, the advanced lighting systems will ensure that each moment is spectacularly illuminated, enhancing the overall experience for performers and audiences.
